Book reports were due today. Thank
you for helping your child complete that report on time.
Remember that rough drafts of state reports are due
next Monday, Feb. 6.
This week we are reviewing concepts learned in theme 5 in preparation of the theme tests students will be taking on Friday. We will be review drawing conclusions, propaganda, making judgments, story structure, stressed and unstressed syllables, analogies, prefixes, suffixes, syllabication, parts of speech, subject and object pronouns using I and me, possessive pronouns, contractions with pronouns, double subjects, using we and us with nouns, adverbs, and comparing with adverbs. In writing students will continue to work on responding to literature.
Math
This week in math we will be subtracting integers, simplifying expressions, and problem solving by working backwards. Students will then take the topic 15 test, and on Friday we will be working on solving addition and subtraction equations.
Social Studies
Students are learning about living in the southern colonies and working on gating information for their colony advertisements using propaganda techniques. Students will be assessed on chapter 6 on Friday.
ScienceMonday we had our last meeting of the 2nd rotation. All students were assessed. Our last rotation begins next week, Monday.
